Jeera rice – 1 cup (soaked for about half an hour)
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Cinnamon stick – 1
Cloves – 3
Star anise – 1
Green cardamom – 1
Water – 1+3/4 cup
Onion – 1
Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a kadai, fry cashew nuts, raisins and onion until golden brown and set aside.
To the same ghee add 1 cinnamon stick, 3 cloves, 1 star anise and 1 green cardamom and fry it.
Pour 13/4 cup of water, add enough salt and let it reach a rolling boil.
Add 1 cup jeera rice and mix well.
When it comes to a rolling boil reduce the flame to simmer and cover it.
Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Finally add fried cashew nuts, raisins and onion on top.
