Chicken – 1 kg
Grataed coconut – 11/2 cup
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Coconut oil – 4 tbsp
Cloves – 4
Cinnamon stick – 1
Green cardamom – 2
Onion – 2
Tomato – 1
Green chilli – 4
Ginger garlic – 2 tbsp (crushed)
Roasted red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
Roasted coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Water – 3 to 4 cups
Heat 1 tbsp coconut oil in a pan, add black pepper and fry for a few seconds.
Then add grated coconut and fry until golden brown.
Let it cool down, grind it by adding 1 cup of water and set aside.
Heat 3 tbsp coconut oil in a pan, add cinnamon, green cardamom, cloves and saute it.
Add onion and fry until it turns translucent.
Add crushed ginger-garlic, green chilli, curry leaves and saute until the raw smell goes off.
Add chicken and saute it for about 2 to 3 mins.
Now add roasted red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt, saute it for 2 mins.
Pour 11/2 cup of water, let it reach a rolling boil.
Cover it for about 10 mins, stir in-between.
Now add the ground coconut mix, adjust the consistency by adding enough water.
Let it boil.
Add roasted coriander powder and mix well.
Cover for about 5 mins.
